• AI isn't actually taking your job. Current AI and robotics can automate parts of many jobs, not entire roles. According to McKinsey research, AI could handle 57% of work activities, but mostly through automating specific tasks rather than replacing whole jobs.

• Between Jan 2024 and April 2026, seven countries tried to give gig workers employee benefits. In six cases, courts reversed course, keeping workers classified as contractors. Now, an estimated 3.1 million workers lost protections they briefly gained — exposing how outdated labor laws struggle to keep up with the gig economy.

• The National Employment Law Project criticized the Trump administration’s move to roll back stricter rules on classifying gig workers as employees, arguing it makes it easier for companies to deny workers benefits, protections, and fair pay.
